No Ductwork? No Problem!

Are you planning on opening a restaurant in a beautifully ornate building in which you can't even break wind without planning permission?

As gorgeous as some of the historic buildings are in the UK, they can certainly prove to be a planning permission nightmare. We know our ducting is top notch, but let's face it, even ours isn't gorgeous enough to complement a Grade II Listing building when it's hanging off the side of it!

If this is the sitch that you're in now, or if your kitchen is trapped in a huge building that you just can't get the fumes out of, then have no fear; Trivent is here!!!

Have you read our case study on a project we have completed in a fancy private residence in Belgravia, London? I'm sure you can imagine in that boujie part of the country, external ductwork is quite frankly not an option. But how on earth is a private chef meant to operate without it? By housing a Reflow recirculation tower in a redundant swimming pool in the basement, that's how!

Reflow Recirculation Unit installed in a redundant basement swimming pool in London | Trivent Ltd UK

For this project, a kitchen canopy was installed as normal above the cookline and then runs of internal extract and supply ductwork were installed, going from the canopy down to the basement and connected onto the recirculation tower. The fan and the filtration is contained within the tower, so it cleans the fumes from cooking equipment then takes the clean air back out through the grilles in the canopy, back into the kitchen atmosphere. I know, right?! Absolute magic it is!

You can read more about it in on our Projects page and if you think this equipment might come in handy for your next project and would like any further information, then give us a shout!
