Cornish Bakery, Milton Keynes - Recirculation System
Did you know that you can still have a kitchen ventilation system, even if you've been refused planning permission, or there just isn't a possibility to route ductwork outside? Well, you do now!
For this project, Cornish Bakery were opening an outlet at a shopping centre in Milton Keynes, however the centre management were not in a position to allow them to vent to the atmosphere due to building constraints. We therefore welcomed this opportunity to use a recirculation system, which extracts the fumes through the standard baffle filters in the canopy and then through an additional three stages of filtration so cleaned, fully filtered air is then returned back into the kitchen.
Given the amount of filtration that is hidden away in the filter boxes in the ceiling void, it is obviously tricky for kitchen staff to know when to change the filters. We have therefore manufactured a Dirty Filter Indicator box which sits nicely in the kitchen and indicates when a particular filter type requires changing, thus ensuring that the fumes are continually filtered to provide clean air.
If you're looking to move into a building that potentially has constraints for installing a kitchen ventilation system, please get in touch here and we can go through your options!
Here is how the recirculation system was installed:
